Why 99% of Editing Agencies Are a Trap

At the beginning of this month, I quit the content agency I’d been working with for the past five months. At first, it was decent money and a solid experience, but looking back, I wouldn’t do it again. And honestly, neither should you.

Here’s why:

❌ Capped income – No matter how good you get, your pay stays the same because agencies have dozens, sometimes hundreds, of editors (mostly from lower-cost countries) ready to take your spot for half the price. They don’t need to care about you.

❌ No room (or motivation) for growth – There’s no real reason to get better when your effort doesn’t impact your earnings.

❌ No valuable connections – You don’t work with clients directly, which means you miss out on building relationships with business owners, YouTubers, and other high-level people in the space.

Agencies might seem like the easy route if you just want to make money—but even then, they’re not worth it. Working with your own clients takes more effort, but if you put in the work, you’ll make way more and actually build something.

Your call.
